NOTE: These rules only apply in this Role Playing section of the forums.
1. The rules/guidelines set by the thread starter (aka OP or Original Poster) must be followed.
2. The thread starter (aka OP or Original Poster) is the thread owner. They are responsible for the role play they have started, and for solving any disputes first.
3. Side exclusive role play threads are prohibited. For example, SGU only or Praxis only.
4. All threads should start with a prefix. Options: [OoC] (Out of Character), [Open RP], [Sign-up], [Closed RP] and [Story]. See below for a list of each.
If for some reason you want to start a non-roleplaying thread, use the [OoC] prefix.
All role play threads, with active role play occurring within will have a corresponding [OoC] thread. This will help to keep the role play clear, and easy to follow.
[Open RP] threads are open to anyone to join, and become involved at any point in time. Anyone joining an Open RP thread is agreeing to abide by the scenario definition as set out by the OP (Original Poster).
[Closed RP] threads are available to a select few. This selection process will entail the creation of a Sign-up thread before any Closed RolePlaying begins. The Sign-up thread should explain everything. It should state how many of what type of characters you are willing to accept, the basic framework of the role play and any other pertinent information. This gives people a chance to decide to join or not, and doesn't automatically exclude anyone. Once sign-ups are completed, request the thread be locked to avoid confusion.
A [Story] thread is the OP telling a story involving one or more of their characters. You may comment in the thread, but don't expect any role play actions you undertake to affect the Story being written. Depending on the nature of the Story, and the discretion of the OP in allowing outside actions to evolve the story, the thread may be changed to an Open RP.
[Sign-up] threads will be those that an OP may wish to find those interested in starting a RP. The OP will explain what is important about their respective RP in this thread, and then will create a [Closed RP] for those only who signed up in that thread.
5. All threads made here must be both a RP thread, and an OoC thread related to that RP. All other posts should be directed in the OoC sticky post.
6. In the event that your thread may be closed by a moderator, for any given reason, the OP should not reply, or open it again (despite the fact of having the ability to do so). This is to ensure proper moderation, and failure to abide by this might result in a warning or otherwise. If you would however, like to speak of a closed thread, it would be best to do so by pm.
7. This forum has been designated as Stargate Worlds game canon only. If you have any questions or concerns regarding any roleplay or character biography, please feel free to ask the community. They will be more than happy to help you understand the canon.
