Default Another Furling Theory

Okay. I'm basing this off the fact I can't recall any other race apart from the Tau'ri to pronounce the word "Furlings"

So here's the story:

(SG-1 arrive on a generic alien planet)
First thing Daniel notices is a signpost, written in Furlinese. Before he can translate 2 watch men de-cloak and stun SG-1

(In a prison cell)
*SG-1 wake up*
Mitchel "Anyone catch the license plate on that truck?"
Daniel "Well that was unexpected..."
Sam "It's some kind of cell."
Tea'c "Indeed"
Gaurd "SILENCE" *swings his staff weapon (Not Jaffa staff)*
Daniel "You're the Furlings?!"
Gaurd *In shock* "FURLINGS?! Dude... do we look like ewoks?!"
Daniel *confused* "Errm..."
Gaurd *Unnessecerally twirls his staff over his head and around his body and strikes an over dramatic stance*
Gaurd "We are the proud race Fu-R-lings" (Fu from Fury, hard R, lings)

So there we have it. Basing on what I stated above, a solution to a possible pronunciation error when Daniel first translated the text on Tarturus.

So... yeah.

Rofl. xD

To my memory, though I could easily be mistaken, they didn't know who the Furlings were until later, when Thor was talking to Jack after taking the ancient knowledge from him. Episode "The Fifth Race", I think.

Yep. Pretty sure it was the Asgard who first muttered the word in the series.

To the Asgard anybody/anything with any hair at all could be described as a furling, so they could even look reasonably human.

Maybe all the Asgard have a genetic flaw which prevents them from pronouncing "Furlings" as they themself pronounce it.

Maybe they ascended. We saw that Anubis could ascend (with help), and I remember one episode where one of the ancients was saying that they weren't the only race to have ascended.
