Default The Nox!

'Ello all,

I was wondering, did the Nox ever appear again after the episode "The Nox" I thought it was in these seasons, but I wasn't sure. Feel free to move this to the Season Nine forum if that ep was in there.

A Nox once appeared in an episode where that boy who was also in the movie and got taken over by a Goa'uld (can't remember his name) ended up crashing on the Tollan homeworld. She was the neutral party.

Other then that, I can't remember any nox... bleh

The name of the Goa'uld or the host? Klorel and Skaara respectively in any case. Lya was the Nox at Triad (the Tollans version of a trial) in the Episode Pretense. Lya also makes a very brief appearance in Enigma when the Nox agree to take in the Tollan refuges.

Pretty sure that's it as far as Nox appearances go.

So SGW might be a great place to see a Nox story-line. I would love the chance to see thier city in the sky!

Which is pretty stupid considering that they are one of the Four Great Races.

Not necessarily. I mean, the Nox did have a very passive, secretive nature about themselves. From a military standpoint, they won't give us anything, so trips through the gate to meet them would be friendly chats only, which the AF prolly isn't willing to pay for. Aside from the fact that they don't need our help, and are too passive to join in an alliance against Goa'uld, Ori, or what have you.

Just because the Nox won't give us millitary technology doesn't mean that they are useless to us.

I never said they were useless. I'm saying that the AF wouldn't sponsor friendly check-in trips through the gate all the time if they weren't getting anything out of it. Besides, didn't the Nox bury their gate?

I do belive that they mentioned to the Nox to bury their gate in the nox but since the nox appeared in later episodes perhaps they did not bury their gate.. or perhaps they used transports to goto places they needed to go ..

I think they did mention burying their gate, but seeing as the Nox are so uber advance they could have just disabled it, used it only when needed etc no need to do anything so crude/primitive/young as burying it.

They didn't bury their gate as they used it to travel back to their world with the tollan I believe. I'm sure they had an asgard stone to activate it without the kawoosh as well.

We really know nothing of the Nox, but they don't seem the ancient type. (i.e. leave everyone to die) They are probably dead (by the Ori ) or trying to figure out a passive way to stop them (somehow I don't think the Ori are willing to negotiate

The Ori probably don't even know they exist. They can hide pretty well, remember? Plus:

In season 10, it's unclear if all of the Ori died or not, after prior-Daniel and Co. sent Merlin's machine to the Ori galaxy. We know Adria survived, but I suppose we'll have to wait for the movie to tie up those loose ends

Oh just remembered in the first Tollen episode didnt they use the laser beemy thing that bends sticks to send a message to the Nox? so maybe they did bury it for a bit (or do some advance version of burying e.g. filling it in with Noxian Concrete

If I remember correctly they did infact open it once by simply waving their arms as the event horizon would appear after it, dont'cha jsut love theatrics?
Anyhow they probably buried the gate a while back so I'd guess they're alive and kicking (or ascended?)

Indeed they did, Lya appeard in the Gate room to help the Tolans escape from Col: Samuels and then again when Skaraa/Klorel had to go thru "triad" on Tolana

The last episode I saw them in was the Triad episode. I wish they would have elaborated on them more. Even though they would not give us technology, they gave back in wisdom and small trinkets of knowledge. They were a very interesting race.

Does anybody think the Nox only have that 1 home world? Even we have the alpha and beta site. I was hoping the Nox were on a few planets.

The Nox storyline seems over. It seems tptb don't like technically superior friendly or neutral races.

For example, the Nox are never seen. The asgard were awol for the most part a long time before they blew themselves up. The Tok'ra are awol. The Tollan are long gone. The ancients only appear one at a time until the other ancients stop them from interfering.

Have to agree with you there. SG1 had a lot of characters that you would think would have made more appearances. The Nox very brief stay of I think 2 episodes and being one of the four races was disappointing. Especially after seeing the end of The Nox where they showed SG1 that rather large city "Which Hathor had fished out of their heads with that Tok'Ra mind machine. Still no appearances. I have to toss them up there with the other heavily under used, but could have been cool characters like Aris Boch, Sokar, and a few others.

Yes, but as others have pointed out they've used the gate since then. Even if they reburied it, the Odessey (Not sure if that's spelt right) should be able to get there relatively fast.

Wasn't much to hear about. They were keeping to themselves not wanting to bother or be bothered. Their only defense was their stealth.

IIRC, there was a mention of them in another episode with the Tollans.
