Default CME, You'll tell us right?

Question for those upstairs, (CME)

When Beta Starts.... for those poor souls who don't get in originally (notice my unrelenting optimism for myself) will you tell them that closed Beta has started.... atleast so ppl don't spend the next 2 months moping not knowing what is going on but at least know that soon open beta will start and all will be good in their gaming lives again?

I hope you do not take this the wrong way, but man you guys need to relax on the beta subject. Your all putting so much attention into it you would think its an official public release. Relax don't rush the dev's, rushed product usually sux in the long run.

If I was CME I would worry about beta with all these people jumping around screaming to be in beta etc... and how much it means to them, yawn...

Beta is about you going in and trying to find holes in the game basicly, its not very exciting and it just worries me the most when I see all these people bouncing to get in. It makes me wonder if they are here to beta or get a head start, etc...

I've been in several betas so I can understand the excitement to get in one, what bothers me is when some people get in the beta then try to slam the game like it is a finished product. It's funny to see someone in a beta say they aren't gonna play the game because it has to many bugs and they are going back to (insert random game here), however, as long as it is properly moderated all the "headstarters" will eventually be gone opening up spots for people who will really test the game..

Non-contributing beta testers should have their beta rights revoked. I know that sounds harsh but every game in development is on a time schedule and there is no room for dead weight testers until you get to the load testing near the end of the beta. You need players in a beta that look for bugs and report them in a timely fashion, test out balancing in both PvE and PvP (if available in beta). You need players that are willing to have an open dialogue about game features and systems, not posters that say: OMG THIS GAME WILL FAIL BECAUSE OF X; or the standard ultimatum posts about adding or removing a certain feature or aspect of gameplay.

It's a Beta Forum. There are 30k members. You are going to see a lot of people talking about getting into beta.

You are correct that we don't know how many people are going to be invited, in what period of time, so people getting their hopes up is begging for disappointment. But, Other than that I don't see what Harm it does.

Thank YOU!!! All that I have been trying to lay down straight for awhile, basically heads-up people don't listen to us and Im going to go off the wall when people start trashing the game during beta

Anyone that gets into a Beta this early then complains about issues with the game should never have Beta'd in the first place. This is Beta 1. You will more than likely see glitches, graphics placeholders, system issues, server crashes, character wipes, and all that fun stuff.

In the SWG Beta (2?), I got corpsed by a mob, and was stuck as a corpse for 2 days until the servers came down. Fun times!

I come off a lil harsh perhaps in some posts, but I was in the gaming inudstry perhaps to long as it jaded me in many ways. So sorry if I rained on someones parade, I just get a lil tweaked when I look at upcoming titles and those foaming at the mouth to test, and wonder why they get so excited.

I believe if you want to test, you toss your name in the hat, and wait to see. However if all the wackiness around getting into beta were displayed to another person that would get you labeled as a stalker!

Friends and Family beta began in the past couple of weeks with the company employees testing as well as a handful of friends and family.

We will be ramping up soon.

IF YOU GET ASKED TO REGISTER and/or JOIN the friends and family testing, please keep your NDA agreement. We will take action on anyone who is dishonoring this. Thank you.

And I'm a friend to... everyone, really. I'm a buddhist.

I think Non-Disclosure-Agreements are cool. They're used like twenty times in Stargate SG-1...

Tbh those Beta members who dont report anything no feedback or anything accounts should be revoked.......... mainly caus they are just playing and not contributing its so annoying when you read other MMO's Beta's and how most dont help fix or report bugs

I agree, and for a Rushed product, take Vanguard: SOH for example. The game wasn't ready for release, and in the end SOE ended up buying out Sigil, now do we really want that to happen? (although the game is getting a tad bit better)

*Puts a slip of paper into his pocket stealthily*

Now, what were we saying?

We're gonna link to the registration page soon. When that happens you'll all sign up and from that database we'll start selecting users a few at a time and ramp up over the next weeks to more and more.

Be patient guys. Don't want to break our baby game eh?
