Well, I've been a member for a lil' while now, and the membership ain't that expensive. Like $20 a year.

I didn't sign up for a beta spot..."lil' while" refers to a time span of months, not hours, hehe. If people have the money, though, let them decide what's best for them. Power to capitalism, right?

And what with all the threads about "what would you do for a beta spot...", methinks $20 is not below many people on these forums.

But the op post was a bit misleading, probably not on purpose. They are not just giving away beta spots you have to be a paying customer to get one.

Yeah, he probably should have specified the "paying members" part of it, but then again, if it was a free giveaway in the truest sense, it would either be a raffle or unfairly help those who don't live on these forums.

We are giving TTH enough keys for their premium members because they have been amazing to SGW through the years. The entire team has been supportive and always encouraging to the devs and the fans.

I believe that the premium members will make a great addition to beta. If you don't wish to be a premium member at TenTonHammer being a forum member here is still a great shot at joining us in the beta process.

I can understand the frustration in the sentiments regarding "paid" keys. I've often felt the same way about Fileplanet's subscription only services. However, both FP and TTH are businesses and need to support the bandwidth that we're using to host files, videos, and so much more.

More sites are going to this sort of strategy, so I wouldn't be surprised if almost every eventual beta test offers a "pay to play" option for testers that want to get in earlier than others.

Just for curiousity sake, since I don't have a premium membership atm, do these beta keys allow access right away or do we have to wait for a specific date? I might have missed where it said that tho so if anyone knows please do share.

Since the beta list updates every Friday, ya have to wait until next Friday to gain entrance into the Beta....I think, hehe. But all you need to do is click on the beta button to gain your confirmation code and the like once you are a premium member.

Blargh blasted west coast delay!,Im on the east coast and just got to this now and i didn't get the chance to deposit cash into my account so the keys will be sold out by tommorow I bet

Don't get my wrong I'm not jaded that your paying customers get a chance for betas that me and others don't. They are after all paying for your service and that service happens to offer a chance to get into betas.

It looks like a cheap plug because you left out premium members only.

And as Khatie said it is all good. We still have a chance, I wouldn't say great, to get into beta being a forum member.
