We can't promise he will answer.

We can't promise you will LIKE the answers.

But we can promise, he will read this thread and give what insight and information he is allowed to give.

Enjoy.

Be kind.

Don't run with scissors!

BIG thank you to Ledaye for agreeing to this.

Default Anything, Really

Ask me anything, really. Personal, game-related, whatever you want. If I know and can tell you, I will. If I know and I can't tell you yet, I'll tell you that. I'll tell you why we did stuff. Like Khatie said, you may not like the answer, but this is a 'no b.s.' zone.

Good morning guys n gals

Being the creative director, are you feeling that the game is looking more and more how you would like it too?
SO many of us saw the trailer, and while most here understand that it was CGI using some game textures a fair few feel worried that it will be too cartoony... (it still looked fantastic btw)
Or are the limitations in using DX10 (for lower end pc's) holding you back too much?

Has the team come up with any super sweet ideas that can't be implemented because of technological constraints?

What was the coolest idea like that?

I have a question along the same lines.

Hi Chris/Ledaye (Which ever you prefer),

Has there been anything you have wanted to implement in game but haven’t been able to do to financial/time constraints? If yes, can you list a few of them?

Planetary battlegrounds comes to mind. We're gonna get there, but not at launch. It wasn't that we couldn't do it, but rather that the time it would take to get a system to handle setting up the battlegrounds wasn't possible in the time we had given everything else we wanted to do.

I'm sure there are others, but that was the first that popped into my head.

Interesting question. Howard and I work very closely together (we meet every morning with Dan, Sean and Steve to go over concepts) and the game looks exactly like we want it to. There are no compromises. I used to be a professional set and lighting designer for theater, so I'm not the biggest fan of realism.

I'll be happy to talk more about this in detail, if you wish.

I do not think it's 'cartoony' at all. It certainly is stylized, which was a decision we all made together.

We felt that allowed our players the most flexibility. If they wanted to do just like the SG-1, they could. If they wanted to do more like Atlantis (which feels less formal) they could.

So if i take a 4 person PUG (Pick up group) into the group content (not raid) i would be able to have the same chance to complete it as a 6 person team

(pug = dont know each others tactics, arent of the perfect archtype configuration and not the absolute best gear for the level)

Umm, yeah, I know what a PUG is, my friend.

Yes. Remember, we don't have specific archetype roles Jayna. It's much more fluid, and much more dependent on player communication.

The game system self-scales by using different tactics.

Yes.

Let me give you full disclosure: I was student chairman of the McGovern for President committee at Rutgers University. But that was a long time ago.

I am very political, but I will not discuss politics or religion on these forums.

Music, art, film, books, have at it. I'd be happy to talk that stuff.

McGovern

Didnt he run with Grover Cleveland?

JUST KIDDING! Dont hurt me!

Game question - Rryst and I have fought over this question for almost 2 years, will most of the PVE combat happen between human/jaffa/asgard/goa'uld npcs and player characters or will there be traditional mobs (robots, bears, boars , rats etc) for players to fight?

Hmmm, in the beginning of your leveling career, mainly NPCs.

Towards the higher levels the mix changes to allies of the big bad, which aren't all human.

Very few 'creatures,' after all, it's not a hunting/gathering society.

Grin

Hope that helps!

I can't say one favorite, but some of my favorites are:

American Beauty
Amadeus
Michael Clayton
Almost Famous
Network
Adaptation

Reading?

Hmm, I love anything by Steven Pressfield (Gates of Fire, Last Amazon). I have to think about others. I tend to read history and biography. I am a nut about the Ancient World (Greece, Rome, Babylon).

But doesnt music, art, films and books portray the deeper meanings in this world as they are and so go into the same area than politics and religion?

If not, its like Karazhan opera event, you get a debuff named "bad poetry"

I agree, art changes the world more than either of the other two, but my opinions about art won't induce a firestorm, 'cause they'll just be chalked up to my opinion.

Diffeerent questlines for different Archtypes? FAROUT!

Since the game is sounding a bit complicated to me - Will relative newbies to the MMORPG genre be able to play the game easily or will they find it difficult? One of the great things about LOTRO is that the tutorial was so complete someone like me who had never played an MMORPG before in my life was still able to pick it up. (Sorry if this has been asked, I"m working my way through all 40+ pages, but it will take me a few days.)

Hey it's me again. I have a somewhat delicate question to ask.

I just got finished watching The Ark of Truth (me likey ) and I have a question regarding some of the content in it. The question isn't 100% integral to the plot of the movie but it is a pretty big (and cool) surprise so I'll put the question in a spoiler box to avoid giving anything away.

Here we go:

In the movie, Mister Marrick is killed by a replicator and freakishly reanimated into an unbelievably badass replicator/terminator/zombie. Can we ever expect to see one of those in the game?

I'm unfortunately guessing the answer is "not at this point, no" but I'd like to have you crush my dreams instead of doing it myself.

This may be asked before, i dont know. You said as a question about anything, so here it is.

We have the asgards technology to materialise things out of thin air. Why wasn't an episode written where we made a heap of asgard ships, or weapons? we can materialise stuff out of thin air here, come on lol.

Power is a problem? Im sure the president would allow all of America's power to make a spacecraft.
