Default What weapons would you like to see in SGW?

I thought it would be cool if everyone listed what weapons they'd like to see in Stargate Worlds.
Maybe the devs will look at this and include some of the weapons you all suggest?

This is a very popular thread topic. My answer is the same.

AA-12 auto shotgun

That would be a very good addition. I would like to see the Barrett .50 cal sniper rifle as well as a larger variety of pistols so we're not limited to the Beretta 92. Perhaps the Desert Eagle, H&K USP, 1911's, Walther P99's, maybe even some revolvers.

With a max range of 30m i doubt that a sniper rifle will be that wonderful of a weapon.

Agreed. Auto targeting ruins a sniper rifle just as much though.

I was just going off the fact that they mention the Commando could specialize with sniper rifles. "By giving up access to the variety of weapons a Soldier uses a commando gains access to stealth, demolitions and the sniper rifle."

I think that the archetype description for commando said it would use long ranged weapons to "debuff" an enemy.

I wasnt bashing your choice though!

Yeah... I did take that quote off of the SGW wiki, so it might not be 100% accurate. I completely understand your position on sniper weapons in the game though.

I did just find this in an interview they had with TenTonHammer.

"Commando – This Archetype represents highly-specialized warriors like covert agents, Green Berets and Delta Force. Commandos use stealth, demolitions and powerful single-target ranged attacks to disrupt, confuse and neutralize enemies. While able to use stealth effectively, the Commando Archetype also has access to detection technologies used to thwart stealthy foes. They can’t use the variety of weapons available to the Soldier, but they make up for it with access to the sniper rifle and the ability to set up and detect traps."

For me I would love to see indirect weapons (alas I don't think it will be all that possible within the ranges we've been told about)
  • M-224 60mm Lightweight Mortar
  • MK 19 Mod 3 40mm machine gun (or at least the stupid M-203 40mm Grenade Launcher. At least that should be doable within the 30m range, but it's just not the same)

While everyone seems to like Sniper weapons, I'd rather have a bit more distance between me and my target (besides with indirect weapons you can have a foreward observer and gun team set-up)

If some nitwit at CME makes rifle range 30m, I think I wont be giving them my money. I can throw that far.

Pickle Juice Squirtgun
Ping Pong Ball Launcher
Sling shot

Oh, wait, oh wait...I've got a great one: Richard Simmons! That's like dropping a nuke on the battlefield, everyone will run away from that.

I would really enjoy a line of Kahr arms.

But, I really doubt they will add any of my favorite Hand Guns, they might run into some legal Litigations.

Duel wield desert eagle with laser targeting on them, oh yeh . Probably not the most efficient weaponry when it comes to attack power but just for the sake of looks I absolutely love it .

ZATs weapons, P90s, C4, Desert Eagle and Staff weapons. The basics are enough for me I think.

Mk19 - at 80 lbs, you need to mount that on a humvee. That, and it's max effective range really isn't 1600m as the internet says.

I would expect to have the 203 in the game, but the kill radius would have to be seriously reduced since it has to travel at least 48m to activate.

I'd like to see weapons the military actually uses - M16/M4 series rifle, 249, 240. You have no real reason to have any other kind of rifle other than coolness factor (which would be fun if you could run around with a G3 or G36K or something like that), but as far as shotguns go the only real use for them on the battlefield is for breaching doors, and there's no real use for submachine guns.

What I'd love to see in game would be:

Goa'uld Hand Device
Ashrak Hand Device
Za'tark hand device
Zats
Staffs
TERs
Pain Stick
Shock Grenade
Staff Canon
TECS (techunamiktelltechterion w/e)
Throwing Knives
Standard Regulation Airforce and SGC Weaponry
Weaponry from Bedroisa (New Ground - SG1)
Serrakin Weaponry (Forsaken - SG1)

I like to go above and beyond...
