Default Fund drive for CME families at TTH

Hi all...first post here. I jsut saw this on my RSS so it made me come out of lurker mode. I'm a fan of TTH for a pretty long time and I think this is cool of them. Hopefully CME will get there financial problems patched up but if not it's good to know there's a way to help on way or another..,

Make a CME kid smile this holiday season!

Ten Ton Hammer is proud to sponsor a unique giving opportunity this holiday season. Last week we ran a news story highlighting the fact that a number of developers at a prominent MMORPG development house were going without a paycheck, with no promise of when they could expect their pay in full. Yet these developers go to work each day, continuing to work on one of the most anticipated MMORPG titles of 2009.

We couldn't think of a worse time for this to happen then right before the holidays, so last weekend we selected a number of CME families that could really use a helping hand right now. We'll be collecting donations of five dollars and up (Paypal payments accepted) through next Monday, December 15th, and we'll donate a matching amount to the fund (up to $500) for the first 25 Ten Ton Hammer 1-year premium membership subscriptions purchased during this time.

We'll then distribute the fund to these parents equally through gift cards to kids toy and clothing retailers, or if payroll obligations are met by this time, we'll donate the full amount to Ronald McDonald House Charities instead.

Whether you were waiting for the ideal time to pick up a Ten Ton Hammer premium membership or just looking for an opportunity to give, please consider giving to the Ten Ton Hammer CME Kids Holiday Donations Drive! Full details after the jump.

Saw that, thought it was a very odd post.

If the meet the dev's thead is any thing to go off, there would be at least 40 ppl working there at CME, would seem they have no family or freinds they can turn to, or any kind of welfare system.

Thought it was a scam, but then again I don't trust anyone.

Until CME say's it's broke, in some way, with an official statement, I won't believe it.

Oh yeah, sorry....hello Davryn

I really really really hope they don't end up going broke. I remember when that happened to Runestone when they tried to make Seed. Normally I'm no emo, but I almost cut my wrists that day

Bet they regret those HumVee tours in Leipzig now

Yeah its a nice thing but it might not be legit. I'm sure they've got some sort of back up expenses to work with or they could just sell all that stargate stuff to the fans( and me please).

There was a quote from the devs at Ten Ton Hammer:

So that looks pretty legit to me.

As for TTH I dont think this is any sort of scam...its a good site, I've been hanging out there for a while. They said if CME did pay ther employes they would donate the $$ to a charity instead...so it's not like it's all going to TTH anyhow, if you see what I mean. Even if CME employees were getting paid, the $$ would still be going to something charitable. Personally...I don't see anything wrong with it.

The best way our community can help Stargate Worlds is to spread the word of the game, and when we release the game, to play it! We are happy to have the support of the community throughout the past yeas and are confident that when the game launches, we will continue to have a robust community base.

This specific event that TenTonHammer is running is not supported by us and we are in no way affiliated with its terms and conditions. We are not accountable for the destination of any donations that they may receive for this event.
