Default SGR Tutorials

We at the half-breed clan have decided to put up some tutorials. They are basic, they are walk-through-ish ... and they are meant for new players who want to get a little familiar with the game.

Hopefully they help.

http://www.halfbreedclan.com/tutorials.html

Tutorials currently available:
1. Overview of SGR Classes
2. Heads up display overview
3. Soldier 1v1 tactics
4. Scientist 1v1 tactics
5. Commando 1v1 tactics

Hope you all enjoy!

Other tutorials to come:
Map tutorials
Team work tutorials
SL Class tutorials

i think i will post a tutorial of my own.........

WASD=move
left click=kill stuff
f=cheat
r=relode
space=jump
shift=sprint
right click=initiate ashrak destroy mode (with comando)
t=tell the enemy your battle plan
y=tell you team what you thought of this weeks sgu
esc=begin evac

lol just poking fun. i think its great that you guys made the tutorial, you can only be asked, "how do you make the ashrak go invisible" 19 times a game before you start to lose it. great work!

Nice quick rundown, Zainea. Some good simple explanation, but not hand-holding so that people can get their own style as they figure things out.

May help to note that Goa'uld's shield goes down when he attacks, and that the Goa'uld is vulnerable if you happen to be at close range inside of it bullets can hurt them (got me killed several times when I forget and accidentally get too close to a turret).

Look forward to seeing the other classes get theirs too.

Good work.

great job Zainea, very simple explanations to start people off so they have a clue whats going on, from there they can play and learn the more advanced and specific things themselves. my main complaint is the video quality is rather low, i found it kinda hard to see the spread on the P90 during that segment, if you can get higher quality it would be almost perfect, keep it up

edit: also might want to alter the layout a bit, when the askrak used the hara'kesh on you, you said nothing about it, same with the goa'uld shield dropping while he attacks, perhaps you could do a video covering the basics of each class (what they all have, what each weapon does, etc), then separate videos covering the 1v1 matchups, so that new players have had a primer of the jaffa, ashrak and goa'uld before dealing with solder vs. 'class'
also, and im not sure if you are already planning this, but you said a little bit about the sgc map being capture point, perhaps you could also have a video covering all the current maps, the game types on them, and specific map artifacts (weather devise on whiteout),

Yeah, I was in a hurry, I might re-render it on a higher quality.

Glad you guys like it. I was going for something like you were talking about. Lets people know whats up without making them mad at me for talking to much lol.

@ The Game, I'll put that on an annotation. And I'll mention it on the Goa'uld vid

haha, nice... and true, you can only be asked that so many times. Probably will put "press F" really big on the screen on those two lol

Yeah, thats what I was attempting to do at the beginning. I might just redo the soldier video. Cut out the beginning and make it its own stand alone video.

Yes, I have the maps coming up as i get more tutorials, its finals week so once i get those done i will have time to do all this

Good work, Zainea.

Personally I'd say these are quite worth stickying a main post with a link to all tutorials you'll be making for any new players. I've noticed quite a few people during matches sitting around testing weapons a bit, and these vids I'm sure will give them a stronger initial idea of it.

I'm sure many new players will be grateful.
